Cecilian Night Promenade

Cecilian Night Promenade (Prom) is unquestionably the most anticipated and most memorable junior high school event. This academic year, the Grade 6 & JHS Prom of VCAAT was held at VCAAT Campus on February 22, 2019, from 6:00 to 10:00 in the evening. This year’s theme was dubbed as “Vintage Time Travel... Going Back to where it started”.

It was a memorable occasion for the grade six and junior high learners as they showed off their elegant gowns and formal attires in a bid to socialize with their batch-mates. The occasion started with the entrance of the grade six and junior high, candle and rose ceremony, invocation, and welcome address by the school principal, Mrs. Evangeline P. Detera.

Besides the enjoyment and camaraderie, the event signalled the “Turnover Ceremony” of the learners, as they step into young adulthood. It was also an occasion for the juniors to salute the achievements of their graduating batch-mates, while the graduating students bequeathed the mantle of leadership to the juniors. Aside from that, all the scholastic emblems held by the JHS for the academic year were bequeathed to their honorable recipients. Those were symbols of academic victories, co-curricular triumphs, and team-building achievements.

One of the most-awaited parts of this event was the traditional cotillion de honor that served as the prelude to the dancing portion of the Prom. The gracefulness and the inclination of the dancers from the regular grade 6 to 10 were showcased.

Joriz C. Magat, a charming and confident grade 10 learner, was chosen as the Prom King and Shaina Ruby A. Guiyab, a fabulous and gorgeous lady from the grade 10, was crowned as the Prom Queen.

The Cecilian Prom experience was considered memorable to the hearts of grade 6 and junior high schools learners for handing-over and accepting the responsibilities to the next bearers to lead and guide their batch-mates in reaching for their dreams and aspirations. The road to success of the outgoing grade 10 juniors will always be under construction. But, with their instinctive aptitude coupled with great attitude, they can surely reach the peak of great success.
